For nearly seven decades, Kaiser Permanente research has helped nurture the generation of new knowledge in support of the total health of our members and our communities. Today, our physicians and scientists, equipped with state-of-the-art information technology and one of the world’s largest, most comprehensive electronic health record systems, publish reports on many thousands of epidemiological studies and clinical trials. Those studies affect the health outcomes of millions of patients, both members and nonmembers alike. Creating that knowledge, translating it into clinical practice, and sharing it with the world at large constitutes one of the key ways we acknowledge our responsibility to our communities while improving the quality of care and service we provide to our members.
As one of the nation's most productive research programs, we continue to make important discoveries that are shaping the future of health care.
