Meg Porfido, JD, joined the boards of Kaiser Foundation Health Plan, Inc. and Kaiser Foundation Hospitals in November 2011. She serves as chair of the Compensation Committee and is a member of the Audit and Compliance Committee, the Community Benefit Committee, the Executive Committee, and the Governance, Accountability and Nomination Committee. She also serves on the Executive Advisory Board of Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of the Mid-Atlantic States and the Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of Washington regional board.
Porfido has both private and public sector experience, and is an attorney by profession. She formerly served as a member of the management team at Level 3 Communications, a global company based in Broomfield, Colorado, which provides communications services over one of the world’s largest fiber-based networks. From 2006 to 2008, she was the company’s chief human resources officer. Before that, she held various management roles for over eight years, with a focus on communications, integrations, performance management and reporting.
Before joining Level 3, Porfido served as chief of staff to former Colorado Gov. Roy Romer. In that role, she managed the cabinet, which oversaw state government operations and services, and advised the governor and senior managers on legal, budget, operations, personnel and policy issues. Prior to that, she was the governor’s general counsel, working with the attorney general providing legal support to the governor and cabinet, and as the legislative liaison. Porfido also practiced law at the private law firms of Brownstein, Hyatt in Denver and Skadden, Arps in Washington, D.C. She began her career as a legislative assistant to the late Congressman Mike Synar.
In February 2015, Porfido was elected to serve as a member of the board of directors of Rally Software, a publicly traded global enterprise software and services company. Rally was acquired by CA Technologies n July 2015, at which point her board service ended. At Rally, she served on the Audit Committee, Compensation Committee, and Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee. From 2009 to 2013, she was a member of the Colorado State Board of Community Colleges and Occupational Education, appointed by then-Gov. Bill Ritter.
Porfido holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Delaware and a law degree from George Washington University Law School.
