Having a baby is a joyous event. But what about pregnancy? Every day, expectant mothers notice a change in their body they simply aren’t expecting and wonder two things: Is this normal? And why did no one tell me about this?

This week’s episode of Total Health Radio gets to the truth about pregnancy with a frank conversation with Amanda Calhoun, MD, an OB/GYN for Kaiser Permanente Northern California. Dr. Calhoun and host Farra Levin (who was pregnant when the interview was recorded) talk about what happens to our bodies — including those things we’re too embarrassed to talk about with even our closest friends. (In other words, content of this show may cause you to blush, but we hope you find it both helpful and reassuring.)

Total Health Radio is a series of weekly podcasts that explores various aspects of health, including “The ABCs of ZZZs” and “The Ladies’ Guide to Men’s Health.”
