5280 Magazine has released its annual listing of the metro area’s “Top Docs” — a group of physicians voted as best in their field by their colleagues throughout Colorado. This year, 36 Kaiser Permanente physicians received the top honor.

All of the physicians are part of the Colorado Permanente Medical Group, one of the state’s largest medical groups, serving the 670,000 members of Kaiser Permanente in Colorado.

“Though our true motivation and fulfillment comes from the patients we serve each day, we’re honored that so many of our Permanente physicians have been recognized by their peers as stand-out clinicians,” said Margaret Ferguson, MD, president and executive medical director of the Colorado Permanente Medical Group. “Congratulations to this year’s group of 5280 Magazine ‘Top Docs’! From pioneering new techniques in treating lung cancer to innovating use of technology to increase access to care same-day, I’m proud of all our 1,200 physicians and the high-quality care they provide our patients.”

For nearly three decades, 5280 Magazine has surveyed area doctors and asked them, specialty by specialty, which metro-area physicians they’d trust to treat themselves and their families. A number of Kaiser Permanente physicians in Colorado, representing a wide range of specialties, have appeared on this prestigious “Top Docs” list. Many have appeared on the list multiple years.

“This prestigious designation from 5280 Magazine is one more example of how Kaiser Permanente physicians deliver on our mission of providing the highest quality care to our members,” said Roland Lyon, president of Kaiser Permanente Colorado. “A total of 36 Kaiser Permanente physicians were acknowledged for their excellence this year. I want to also recognize the 1,200 other physicians who are all ‘Top Docs’ in my view, along with our nurses, pharmacists and other members of our teams for their efforts to help our members thrive.”
