The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) analysis released today confirms what I said when the American Health Care Act (AHCA) passed the House two weeks ago: The bill is going in the wrong direction. It does not expand coverage. It does not do enough to protect people in need of health care. It does not provide enough assistance to those who need help in paying for care and coverage.
Today, under the Affordable Care Act, we still have 28 million uninsured Americans. The proposed replacement will take that number to 51 million uninsured people in a decade. We should all work toward our common goal of health coverage and care for everyone.
