As a leader in total health, Kaiser Permanente supports our employees with programs and resources that inspire, encourage and motivate them to live healthier lives. In fact, for the eighth consecutive year, the National Business Group on Health honored Kaiser Permanente by having one of the best workforce health and well-being programs in the nation.
“It is an honor to be recognized by the National Business Group on Health for our commitment to our employees’ overall health and well-being,” said Kaiser Permanente Chairman and CEO Bernard J. Tyson. “We understand the importance of promoting healthy workplaces and lifestyles to ensure our employees and physicians continue to thrive and provide high-quality care and service to our members.”
Kaiser Permanente is among only 17 U.S. employers that received Platinum for the 2018 Best Employers for Healthy Lifestyles® award, achieved for having a workforce well-being strategy with demonstrated results. This marks the fifth year Kaiser Permanente has received NBGH’s highest honor.
According to Kathy Gerwig, vice president of Employee Safety, Health and Wellness and environmental stewardship officer of Kaiser Permanente, “Kaiser Permanente’s approach to workforce health is to support overall well-being, engaging with employees strategically to learn more about what they want in health of mind, body and spirit.”
The National Business Group on Health is a non-profit association comprised of 420 large U.S. employers that provide health coverage for more than 50 million U.S workers, retirees and their families.
