ATLANTA — Kaiser Permanente of Georgia again ranks highest in member satisfaction in the South Atlantic region, according to the J.D. Power 2015 U.S. Member Health Plan Study released this week. The health plan, which serves more than 270,000 metro Atlantans, has been top-ranked in the region for six consecutive years.
Scoring a total of 718 points on a 1,000-point scale, Kaiser Permanente scored 42 points above the South Atlantic region’s average for overall member satisfaction. The health plan received the region’s highest scores in the categories of coverage and benefits, cost, and information and communication. The South Atlantic region is comprised of Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina.
“Kaiser Permanente is more than just a health plan — we are also the provider of our members’ health care,” said Julie Miller-Phipps, president of Kaiser Permanente of Georgia. “By bringing care and coverage together, we are able to create a medical home for our members. It is reassuring to know that people who choose our health plans are the most satisfied in our region.”
Kaiser Permanente members have access to more than 450 board-certified physicians with the Southeast Permanente Medical Group, one of the largest multi-specialty medical groups in the state. Members are encouraged to manage their care online at kp.org, where they can email their doctors, view their medical history, make appointments and refill prescriptions.
“We empower our members with information, so they can take an active role in maintaining their health,” said Doug Killion, MD, interim local medical group leader for TSPMG. “When patients are engaged in their care, it leads to better outcomes.”
