Kaiser Permanente of Georgia is Among the Top 20 Health Plans Nationwide

The health plan is also highest ranked in the state for the 9th consecutive year

ATLANTA — Kaiser Permanente of Georgia is among the top 20 commercial health plans nationwide and remains highest ranked in the state for the ninth consecutive year, according to the National Committee for Quality Assurance. Kaiser Permanente of Georgia climbed 16 spots in the past year, ranking 20th among the 484 evaluated plans from across the country.

NCQA, managed care’s major accrediting body, evaluates health plans based on customer satisfaction, treatment and prevention. The data is analyzed and converted to scores from zero to 100. Kaiser Permanente Georgia scored 87.9, ranking the plan 129 spots above any other private health plan in the state.

The national rankings are based upon three categories of performance: prevention, treatment and consumer satisfaction. On a 1 to 5 scale, with 5 being the highest, Kaiser Permanente of Georgia earned a 5 in prevention, a 5 in treatment, and a 4 in consumer satisfaction. Top scores were received in the following categories:

  • Satisfaction with physicians
  • Preventive care for children and adolescents
  • Cancer screening (breast, cervical and colorectal)
  • Postpartum care
  • Diabetes treatment
  • Heart disease treatment
