Kaiser Permanente Hawaii Names Miki Arume Director of Service, Donna LoCurto Director of Perioperative Services

HONOLULU — Kaiser Permanente Hawaii filled two key positions today, naming Miki Arume director of service and Donna LoCurto director of perioperative services.

Arume will be responsible for service performance, including strategic development, monitoring and communication of service programs, compliance, and quality and utilization standards to optimize service outcomes. LoCurto’s responsibilities will include administrative and financial accountability for planning, directing, staffing and coordinating perioperative services related to operating rooms, post-anesthesia care, preoperative evaluation and outpatient admissions.  She will also oversee programs for perioperative staff development, education, training and orientation.

Arume has been with Kaiser Permanente Hawaii for 24 years, most recently as senior consultant for organizational effectiveness. During her career at Kaiser Permanente, she has held numerous sales, marketing and operational roles. Before joining Kaiser Permanente, Arume worked at Queens Medical Center.

LoCurto joined Kaiser Permanente in 2017 from Seton Medical Center in Daly City, California, where she was administrative director for surgical and interventional systems. LoCurto’s career includes positions at many of the top medical facilities in California, including St. Mary’s Medical Center in San Francisco, where she was director of surgical services.

Arume earned a bachelor’s degree in communications and a master’s degree in public health from the University of Hawaii. She is a certified health education specialist and the former president of the Hawaii Society for Healthcare Education and Training. LoCurto has a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Arizona State University and a master’s degree in health care administration from Chapman University. She was a registered nurse for 29 years in California and is currently certified as an operating room nurse.
