ATLANTA — Beat the heat and burn some calories by joining the Every Body Walk! team at Greenbriar Mall on Monday, July 21 from 10 a.m. until noon. Kaiser Permanente of Georgia is partnering with Greenbriar Mall to offer Every Body Walk!, a program designed to encourage people to walk at least 30 minutes a day, five days a week.
Starting Monday, Kaiser Permanente doctors are taking off their white coats and putting on their walking shoes to guide walks through the Southwest Atlanta mall.
“As doctors, we spend so much time talking to patients about the importance of physical activity and how it promotes overall health,” said Charles Fowler, MD, who practices adult medicine at the Kaiser Permanente Cascade Medical Center. “Leading these mall walks allows us to practice what we preach and connect with our patients outside of the exam room.”
Dr. Fowler will lead the Every Body Walk! team on Monday. Kaiser Permanente’s LaJune Oliver, MD, who also practices adult medicine, will guide the mall walkers on Monday, July 28th.
Kaiser Permanente is hosting two 30-minute walks inside Greenbriar Mall between 10 a.m. and noon every Monday during the month of July. Mall walking can be an effective way for people to reach their exercise goals without being limited by the weather. Many metro Atlanta malls open their doors a few hours early to allow the public access to a comfortable and protected environment.

The weekly walks, which start in front of Burlington Coat Factory, are open to the public. So, put on your sneakers, bring a friend and meet us at the mall to walk your way to better health!
