GREELEY, Colo. — Kaiser Permanente Colorado, the state’s largest nonprofit health plan, today announced it has chosen the location for its new Greeley medical offices, scheduled to open in January 2014.
Future Greeley Medical Office
Kaiser Permanente is now under contract to purchase a three-story, 27,401 square-foot building at 2429 35th Ave. in Greeley. The location, just north of Highway 34, was selected for its convenience and easy access. The official closing date is expected in late April and interior construction is tentatively scheduled to begin in early May.
Kaiser Permanente’s Greeley medical offices will offer primary care (family medicine, internal medicine and pediatrics), laboratory, pharmacy and routine radiology services under one roof. This is the latest component of the health plan’s new Northern Colorado service area. In October 2012, Kaiser Permanente opened two new medical offices, in Fort Collins and Loveland. The health plan continues to add members in Northern Colorado and is now serving more than 9,000 members in Fort Collins, Loveland, Greeley and surrounding communities.
“We are very pleased to offer convenient access to Kaiser Permanente medicine in Northern Colorado,” said Donna Lynne, DrPH, president of Kaiser Permanente Colorado. “Our new Greeley medical offices will make it easy to see a doctor, pick up a prescription or have blood work done, all in the same place. We think the Greeley community is going to love this new facility.”
Kaiser Permanente’s Northern Colorado service area also features a partnership with Banner Health hospitals and physicians. Northern Colorado members have a wide choice when choosing a physician. They can select a Kaiser Permanente physician practicing in one of three medical offices in Fort Collins, Loveland or Greeley, or they can choose a physician from a preferred network of more than 400 community providers, including Banner Health and affiliated physicians and clinics in Weld and Larimer counties. Hospital care is delivered at McKee Medical Center in Loveland or North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley. Kaiser Permanente’s partnership with Banner Health allows for the sharing and utilization of health information technology to better coordinate patient care and improve health outcomes. While specific staffing plans are still in the works, the new Greeley medical offices will employ approximately 20 health care professionals, including four physicians, nurses, technicians and administrative staff. In total, Kaiser Permanente’s expansion to Northern Colorado is expected to bring approximately 100 jobs to the region.
Kaiser Permanente offers commercial coverage plans to employers and individual and family plans in Northern Colorado. Larimer County residents are also eligible to enroll in Kaiser Permanente Medicare Advantage Plans. For the fourth year in a row, Kaiser Permanente Colorado has been ranked among the top three Medicare plans in the nation, according to the National Committee for Quality Assurance.
Kaiser Permanente is dedicated to improving the health of Northern Colorado communities. Over the past year, the health plan awarded a $750,000 grant to the North Colorado Health Alliance to launch the Weld County Community Health Campaign; made a $90,000 donation to support Red Cross Wildfire Relief; awarded a $150,000 grant to the Colorado Meth Project to expand the organization’s public-education campaign focused on reaching at-risk youth in Weld County; piloted free performances of Kaiser Permanente Educational Theatre Program’s Amazing Food Detective at 15 Northern Colorado elementary schools; and hosted the premieres of HBO’s obesity series The Weight of the Nation in Fort Collins, Greeley and Loveland. Since 2006, Kaiser Permanente has provided more than $1 million in funding to LiveWell in Greeley and CanDo communities in Fort Collins and Loveland.
