Healthy Workforce Champion Will Ride on Kaiser Permanente Rose Parade Float

Kaiser Permanente Southern California physician Sean Hashmi, MD Sean Hashmi, MD, is an internal medicine specialist who has become a health and fitness champion and an advocate for that “first step.”

Sean Hashmi, MD, is an Internal Medicine Specialist and Nephrologist at the Kaiser Permanente Woodland Hills Medical Center, Calif. He believes in the power of baby steps. As a primary care provider for a mostly adult population, Dr. Hashmi encourages his patients to regain control of their lives one step at a time.

Dr. Hashmi will be among the riders on “First Steps to Total Health,” Kaiser Permanente’s 2014 Rose Parade® float entry. Kaiser Permanente believes that babies who have a healthy first year will grow up to be healthy children, teens, adults and eventually become thriving seniors.

When asked about his role as a primary care provider, Dr. Hashmi said, “I get to serve as my patients’ personal champion. Each patient’s success is our success. I not only get to play a role in transforming their lives, but I can also encourage them to do the same with their loved ones.”

In addition to his role as a physician, Dr. Hashmi is also the Healthy Workforce Champion for Woodland Hills Medical Center. He leads weekly “Walk with your Doc” and “Workout with your Doc” programs designed to teach safe and healthy exercise habits.
