HONOLULU — Pediatrics patients at Kaiser Permanente’s Moanalua Medical Center were treated to a special holiday visit from Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and Pluto this morning. Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa, sent its most beloved friends to spread a healthy dose of cheer to keiki staying in the pediatrics department this holiday season.

This marks the fifth year Moanalua Medical Center has welcomed Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa to visit with patients in the hospital over the holidays. Seven children ranging from 4 months to 17 years old shared hugs, high-fives and laughs with their favorite Disney friends. Disney VoluntEARS – a group of Aulani Cast Members who volunteer their time — also visited to deliver special holiday gifts to each patient.

Visitors from Aulani brought smiles to 4-month-old Moses Love and his family.

“Laughing, smiling and celebrating this magical season helps reduce stress and anxiety in our young patients that need to stay in the hospital over the holidays,” said Angelita Juan, Child Life Services coordinator at Moanalua Medical Center. “We thank Aulani for the opportunity to provide keiki and their families with a dose of laughter and cheer, giving them something to look forward to during an otherwise difficult time.”
