Design Your Big Sunday Volunteer Weekend

May 2, 2014

Los Angeles Medical Center staff and physicians help beautify a school at the 2013 Big Sunday weekend.

Kaiser Permanente employees all over Southern California are working on their plans for Big Sunday. Big Sunday weekend, Friday, May 16 through Sunday, May 18, is a way to connect with hundreds of volunteer projects.

Organizations all over Southern California need help, and there are ample opportunities to serve the causes you care about. Creating a garden for a rehab facility, holding a party for the homeless, fixing up the home of a low-income elderly person, cleaning up a creek, or just setting up a lemonade stand on your corner – there’s something for everyone, whether you have an hour to give or the whole weekend.

From the ground up: Staff and physicians from Los Angeles Medical Center rolled up their sleeves during the 2013 Big Sunday weekend.

Project rosters fill up quickly, so it’s best to commit to something as soon as possible. You’re welcome to send in your photos and stories from the day so we can share them on Twitter and Facebook.

The annual event, now in its 16th year, is sponsored in part by Kaiser Permanente, whose mission is to improve the health of the communities it serves.
