Care Essentials clinic in an Oregon neighborhood

PORTLAND, Ore. – A new Care Essentials by Kaiser Permanente clinic is coming to the Hawthorne neighborhood, providing convenient neighborhood care to Kaiser Permanente members and nonmembers alike who live and work nearby. The clinic will open in early 2018. Care Essentials also opened a Pearl District location, located at 1035 NW Northrup St., last December.

The new Hawthorne clinic will be located at 3060 SE Hawthorne Boulevard, Suite #1, Portland, Oregon, 97214, at the corner of SE 31st and SE Hawthorne.

“People want easy ways to take care of their health close to home and work,” said Janet O’Hollaren, interim president, Northwest, Kaiser Foundation Health Plan and Hospitals. “Care Essentials is designed to meet that need with a medical clinic that covers the basics, right in the neighborhood.”

Care Essentials clinicians can treat minor illnesses and conditions such as colds, flu, strep throat, pink eye, rashes, or urinary tract infections, and minor injuries such as minor burns and abrasions or splinter removals. Clinicians will also provide common lab tests, vaccinations and checkups.

Care Essentials is open every day: Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Both members and nonmembers will be able to make appointments online, by phone or by stopping by in person.

Patients who have access to the First Choice Health PPO Network through their health plan can be seen at Care Essentials for in-network rates, typically an office visit copayment.
