Edward Pei has served on the Boards of Kaiser Foundation Hospitals and Kaiser Foundation Health Plan, Inc. since April 2006.  He serves as Chair of the Executive Committee and the Governance, Accountability and Nominating Committee and is a member of the Finance Committee.

In June 2012, Mr. Pei was named Executive Vice President of the Hawaii Bankers Association, and served in that capacity until his retirement in May 2017.  In December 2009, he retired as executive vice president of the Consumer Banking Group of First Hawaiian Bank in Honolulu, where he also served as a member of the bank’s Senior Management Committee, oversaw the bank’s Card Services Division, Business Services Division, Residential Real Estate Division, and the Retail Credit Product Division.  He joined the Bank in 1971 and during this thirty-eight year tenure also held the position of senior vice president of the Electronic Banking Division and led the management and marketing of credit and debit card products for both consumers and business clients.

Mr. Pei has been very active within his community.  Professionally, he is past president and emeritus director of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce of Hawaii, past chair of the Board of Trustees of the Academy of the Pacific, and past President of Sales and Marketing Executives of Honolulu.  With community organizations, he served as chair of the March of Dimes Hawaii Chapter, Treasurer of the Honolulu Marathon Association, and numerous positions with the Ala Moana Jaycees and Hawaii State Jaycees.  He also currently serves on the Board of Oahu Country Club.

Mr. Pei received a Bachelor of Science degree from Oregon State University, a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Hawaii, and also graduated from two advanced banking school programs.
