Three New Physician Specialists Join Kaiser Permanente Hawaii

Specialists in Critical Care Medicine, Orthopaedic Surgery, Internal Medicine, and Pediatrics Join the Hawaii Permanente Medical Group

HONOLULU –  Kaiser Permanente Hawaii today announced the addition of three new physicians who join over 500 physicians and providers of the Hawaii Permanente Medical Group, the state’s largest multi-specialty medical group, providing comprehensive care to Kaiser Permanente’s 227,000-plus members.

New physicians practicing at Moanalua Medical Center include Sunghyun Lee, MD, a specialist in critical care medicine, and Kanu Okike, MD, a specialist in orthopaedic surgery. Eric Chow, MD, a specialist in internal medicine and pediatrics has joined the Waipio Medical Office.

Sunghyun Lee, MD

Dr. Lee earned his medical degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in Bronx, N.Y., and completed both his residency in internal medicine and fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine at the Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. He most recently worked in intensive care units at Straub Hospital and Queens Medical Center in Honolulu, and serves as an assistant clinical professor of medicine at the University of Hawaii, John A. Burns School of Medicine. Dr. Lee is certified in Critical Care Medicine and Pulmonary Disease by the American Board of Internal Medicine.

Kanu Okike, MD, a specialist in orthopaedic surgery has joined the Moanalua Medical Center, Hawaii

Dr. Okike earned his medical degree from Harvard Medical School and completed his residency in orthopaedic surgery at the Harvard Orthopaedics Combined Residency Program. He earned his Master of Public Health from the Harvard School of Public Health and most recently completed his orthopaedic trauma fellowship at the R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, Md.

Eric Chow, MD, a specialist in internal medicine and pediatrics has joined the Waipio Medical Office, Hawaii

Dr. Chow earned his medical degree from Loma Linda University in California and completed his residency in internal medicine and pediatrics at the University of California San Diego Medical Center. Dr. Chow is a member of the American College of Physicians and the American Academy of Pediatrics. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
