Kaiser Permanente, along with several other national funders, came together to establish the Partnership for a Healthier America in 2010 in conjunction with First Lady Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move! Campaign to end childhood obesity. The PHA is a nonpartisan, independent foundation brings together leaders from the public, private, and nonprofit sectors to negotiate meaningful and measurable commitments, develop strategies, and track the impact of efforts to end childhood obesity.
Supporting the effort is honorary chair First Lady Michelle Obama, honorary vice-chairmen The Honorable William H. Frist, MD, and The Honorable Mayor Cory A. Booker of Newark, NJ. The PHA board of directors includes nationally recognized business leaders, advocates, health professionals and thought leaders from a variety of backgrounds.
