The Alliance for Biking and Walking announced today that Kaiser Permanente has been recognized as the Business Advocate of the Year in their 2014 Alliance Advocacy Awards. These awards are meant to highlight the progress and victories of the bicycle and pedestrian advocacy movement.
Kaiser Permanente was recognized for the significant time and financial contribution it has made to expand walking health outreach and advocacy in the interest of public health. Kaiser Permanente prides itself on approaching health from a holistic perspective, defining wellbeing as a daily experience that reaches beyond the doctor’s office and into neighborhood streets and everyday transportation. Kaiser Permanente looks to continuing outreach and advocacy efforts to encourage walking as part of daily health.
The Alliance for Biking and Walking is a coalition of more than 200 state and local bicycle and pedestrian organizations working together to promote bicycling and walking across North America.
