HONOLULU — Kaiser Permanente Hawaii today announced that complimentary wireless Internet access is now available to members and guests in every hospital room and the waiting areas of its 20 facilities across Oahu, Maui and Hawaii.
By connecting through the “KaiserGuest” network, Kaiser Permanente members and guests can access Web-based email, surf the Web, and stay connected with work, family and friends using a Wi-Fi enabled computer or mobile device.
“We are proud to introduce 24/7 Wi-Fi connectivity,” said Janet Liang, Kaiser Permanente Hawaii president. “Our patients and guests can use it to stay connected to loved ones, surf the Web and stream entertainment of their choice. This increased access is just another example of our work to continually improve the patient experience.”
Kaiser Permanente pioneered the use of electronic health records with Kaiser Permanente HealthConnect®, the largest private electronic health record system in the world, which provides access to comprehensive patient information and the latest best practice research in one place. In addition, Kaiser Permanente members can use My Health Manager through the award-winning kp.org website to access their personal health records, email their providers, check lab test results, order prescription refills and manage appointments from their computers or handheld devices.
