ROCKVILLE, Md. – Levy Curry recently joined Kaiser Permanente of the Mid-Atlantic States, as vice president of human resources.
“Levy’s current and future initiatives will enable Kaiser Permanente to continue on its path of success with recruiting, employee retention, and customer service. We are very pleased to have him on board,” says Marilyn J. Kawamura, president, Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of the Mid-Atlantic States, Inc.
With his vast experience designing, developing, and leading a compensation and benefits organization in a Fortune 500 company, Curry brings a wealth of knowledge and a fresh perspective to Kaiser Permanente’s Human Resource Department. In Curry’s most recent position, with 7-Eleven, Inc. based in Dallas, Texas, he was the director of compensation and benefits for more than 35,000 employees in over 30 states. His previous experience also includes consulting engagements with Fortune 100 companies in executive compensation, strategic benefit planning, and organizational effectiveness.
“I think we have a great opportunity in human resources to make a significant contribution to the overall success of the region. We should integrate the Thrive campaign into our recruiting and retention efforts. Human resources should lead the company in morale and spirit,” says Curry.
Curry earned his bachelor’s degree from Morehouse College, his jurist doctorate from Emory Law School, has studied advanced human resources at the University of Michigan, and completed a conflict resolution program at Southern Methodist University.
